You’re not alone. And you’re in the right place.
My name is Steph, and I’m a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience, but more importantly, I’m a parent too. I know the weight of uncertainty, the late-night Google searches, the guilt, the fear that you’re not doing enough. I’ve been there.
This practice was born from that place.
After years working in the NHS across Birmingham, Sandwell and Staffordshire, in nurseries, primary and secondary schools, community clinics, and homes, I realised something was missing. I saw families, especially those with neurodivergent children, falling through the cracks of one-size-fits-all, adult-led therapy models. When my own personal journey with neurodiversity began, everything shifted. I started to truly see the difference a connection-first, sensory-informed, and child-led approach could make. I stopped trying to fit children into a system that didn’t always fit them. And I started building something different.
At Go Talking Ways, we do things with heart. We honour the whole child, their sensory needs, their communication style, their pace, their play. We specialise in supporting gestalt language processors and children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs, including speech sound difficulties, stammering, and AAC support. We don’t rush. We listen. We meet children where they are, and help them grow from there.
I work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to create supportive environments where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated. I also collaborate with occupational therapists and other specialists to take a truly holistic view of communication and development.
I’m HCPC registered, a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice. I’m trained in Makaton, AAC (low and high tech), gestalt language processing, and more – but above all, I’m committed to making therapy something that feels right for your child and your family.
